As part of an ecological planting programme for a large Victorian
cemetery in London Buckley Design Associates are
establishing a range trees and shrubs native to Greater London.
These will help maximise the ecological
potential of the site and are planted for their aesthetic appeal
and value as food sources for insects and birds. Other plantings
will provide food for invertebrates and nesting sites for birds.
Longer-term ecological objectives will be
informed by two periods of survey work on
the site during the spring-summer of 2005.
