Bernard Hickie works as an associate with Buckley Design Associates on some larger scale projects and also oversees gardens designed for clients in Ireland. A graduate of Merrist Wood Horticultural College, he creates bold and innovative plant based designs using his encyclopedic plant knowledge combined with his strong sense of the visual aesthetic. As well as conservation work on some of the great Irish gardens, he spent three years with Landlife(Irl) group turning urban derelict sites into community gardens using native flowers,shrubs and trees. Dr Mark Spencer BSc FLS works as an associate with Buckley Design Associates on environmentally sensitive sites. He studied horticulture at RBG Kew and botany and mycology at the University of Reading. He advises on native plant habitat construction and restoration and is a biodiversity surveyor for a regional Wildlife Trust. He is contributing to the development of reedbed, willow carr and seasonal pond habitats at an urban nature reserve. David Thomas works as an associate with Buckley Design Associates, providing clients with perspective drawings and artists impressions from scale drawings of the projects. He is a graduate of The London College of Printing. His portraiture work has been selected on four occasions for the BP Portrait Awards exhibition at the National Gallery. and his Trompe LíOeil paintings are featured in several garden books and magazines.
